Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the most common questions and answers which might be useful. If, however, this does not answer your query, please get in touch and I will be happy to help you further.
Can I have an initial chat?
Yes, I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation, which is available only once. If you miss it, I may not be able to offer another one. If you decide to move forward after that, we can schedule an initial assessment session.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required depends on your goals. For one or two specific challenges, 6 or 12 sessions may suffice. However, if you seek deeper changes and greater self-understanding, it may take longer. Throughout our sessions, I will continuously review your goals.
What will the first session be like?
In the initial session, I will collect information about you in a gentle way. It is ok to feel a little nervous, I will be there to help and will make sure we move at your own speed. While there will be opportunities to delve into certain topics, the primary goal of this session is to gather information.
What if I cannot make a session?
My cancellation policy requires a notice of 72 hours before the scheduled session. If you cancel after this time, you will be charged the full amount of the session.
Is it better to work online or in person?
Working online and in person both have their own benefits. Online work offers flexibility and saves time on travel, while allowing you to share in your own comfortable and safe space. In-person work provides the advantage of feeling my physical presence and support in the room and the ability to leave our conversations there.
Will this space be confidential?
All information shared with me is strictly confidential and will only be disclosed to my clinical supervisor. The only exceptions are very rare cases when disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm to you or others, including safeguarding commitments, or when I am legally required or authorised to disclose.
What if I change my mind?
As the client, you hold the autonomy to discontinue therapy at your discretion. However, I highly recommend scheduling a minimum of three concluding sessions to ensure that all issues are comprehensively resolved.
